Children's Miracle Network-the alliance of premier hospitals for children-is a
non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for 170
children's hospitals across North America. Each year these non-profit hospitals
provide the finest care, research and community outreach to help millions of
children with diseases and injuries of every kind.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Children's Miracle Network has grown
dramatically since its founding in 1983, from a televised fund raiser in a small
studio to one of the world's leading children's charities working to save and
improve the lives of millions of children each year.
The 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals are there 24 hours a day to help
kids of every age and background overcome every imaginable disease and
injury-from asthma and broken bones to cancer, sickle cell anemia, pediatric
AIDS, muscular dystrophy and serious injuries.
Children's Miracle Network was adopted as Phi Mu's national philanthropy in 1986. Since then, Phi Mus have raised over $3.4 million for local CMN hospitals. Through Phi Mu's annual National Philanthropy Day, collegians and alumnae dedicate a day to hands on service projects in their communities.
The Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter supports
KU Medical Center by making Spooky Sacks for Halloween and donating much
needed items at Christmas time. Additionally, we do several fundraising events
to benefit CMN. Lately, our most successful fundraising event has been selling
baked goods and assorted cookies at Maple Leaf Festival in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Our newer fundraising events include "Letters from Santa", toy drive, school
supplies drive, "Exam Survival Kits", silent auction and Build-a-Bear event. We
also have been collecting travel sized toiletries for KU Medical Center which
equal $1 each towards CMN.
Come and join us for the fun filled and rewarding social and philanthropic
events scheduled throughout the year! For more information, go to the Calendar
