Our Alumnae Chapter was chartered in the summer of 1916, and experienced major membership boosts twice in our early history. What was initially founded as the Missouri State Phi Mu Association later came to merge with the existing Kansas City Alumnae Chapter. When Alpha Delta Theta Sorority merged with Phi Mu in 1939, the Kansas City Alpha Delta Theta Alumnae Chapter closed and incorporated its membership with ours.
Throughout the years, our members have held key roles in the leadership and advancement of Phi Mu. Our members are former and current Phi Mu National and Area Officers. Some were instrumental in the establishment of our Phi Mu Foundation. Countless others have served Phi Mu as Alumnae Chapter officers, House Corporation Board members, advisers to Phi Mu collegiate chapters, and donors to the many charitable programs of the Phi Mu Foundation.
Phi Mus in the Greater Kansas City area today represent 92 collegiate chapters from 31 states. We are thrilled to serve as the alumnae Heart-to-Heart chapter to the collegiate Phi Mu chapter at Baker University, and proudly focus our philanthropic efforts toward the two local hospitals affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network - Children's Mercy Hospital and the University of Kansas Medical Center. At the 2004 Phi Mu National Convention, our chapter was recognized as the Honorable Mention for the Most Outstanding Alumnae Chapter in our size group.
